Peterson Timber was founded to meet a growing need for reliable, professional forestry services across Northern California.
Our operations began with chipping and fuel reduction work and have expanded into full-scale logging, mastication, fire mitigation, and government contracting.
We combine a modern business approach with boots-on-the-ground grit, supporting forest health and safety across thousands of acres annually.

Leadership
Founded and led by Zane Peterson, Peterson Timber was built on experience, initiative, and a deep respect for California’s forestlands.
Zane grew the company from the ground up—focused on meeting needs others overlooked, and building a company that sets the bar for reliability in the logging industry.

Peterson Timber provides professional logging, biomass, and fuels management services across Northern California and southern Oregon.
We work with landowners, agencies, and mills to manage land, source material, and reduce fire risk while improving forest health.
PROJECTS
Projects That Speak for Themselves
Plaskett Keller IRSC August Complex. Post fire hazard tree removal and site prep for planting.
Elk Creek
Park Fire emergency IRSC. The first emergency hazard tree project to be performed while the fire was still active. This is a great moment for the forest service putting out a project while the value of the trees was able to cover some of the costs of the project.
